The remit of GAAS Chapters

The Chapters are to:

1. concern themselves with the “pure and fundamental aspects of [their fields] of study” and “pursue, encourage and disseminate knowledge”, as required of the Sections by the Statutes;
2. distill relevant information and policy implications of GAAS lectures, symposia, etc., as well as special studies, and make such information and analysis available to Government, Parliament and other agencies, development partners, and to the wider public; and
3. Perform any other function as Council may direct from time to time.
